I’ve got an idea, can you help?

Quite possibly. We specialise in developing and building electronic systems, so if you’ve got a concept and need help with the technical side, from feasibility through to prototyping and production, we may be able to assist. If your idea is still very early, we can still talk, but we might suggest some preparatory steps first.

What information will you need from me initially?

It’s useful if you can outline a few basics: what problem your idea solves, who it’s for, what stage it’s currently at (concept, proof of concept, prototype, and so on), and any key targets or constraints such as size, cost, performance, or timeline. You don’t need to have everything nailed down, but the more detail you can provide, the easier it is for us to understand how we can help. If your idea involves unique intellectual property, you might want to look into IP protection first. We’re happy to provide a mutual non-disclosure agreement before discussing details, so just let us know when you get in touch.

What is the process with BitBox?

We usually start with a chat to understand what you’re looking to achieve. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll move on to feasibility, then design and development. We’ll outline what we can do and give you a clear idea of costs as we go, so there are no surprises.

What are the costs?

Every project is different, but it helps if you have at least a rough idea of what you’re comfortable investing. Early feasibility or concept work can start from a few thousand pounds, while full product developments, including electronics, firmware, compliance and mechanical design, can run into tens of thousands depending on complexity. Having an indicative budget range from the outset helps us tailor our proposal and recommend the right level of support.General introductions are free. Once we move into design or engineering work, we’ll give you a clear proposal before anything starts.

We’re always keen to hear from people who are thinking differently or starting something new. If you’ve got an idea and want to see how BitBox could help make it real, we’d love to talk.
